About Virgen Photography
Hey everyone!

I'm Virginija – Portrait & Lifestyle Photographer
Based in Wellingborough, UK, I specialise in capturing natural, heartfelt moments through creative portrait and lifestyle photography. My work reflects a passion for people and storytelling, whether you're looking for individual portraits, family sessions, or special event coverage.
I primarily serve clients across Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire, but I’m always happy to travel. My sessions are relaxed, friendly, and full of positive energy, like spending time with someone who’s known you for years.
Let’s create something beautiful together.

My photography journey began in Lithuania in 2007, when I bought my first camera and discovered a deep passion for capturing meaningful moments. In 2010, I enrolled at the Vilnius College of Design, where I studied photography and honed my technical and artistic skills. I completed my studies in 2014 and soon after, moved to England to continue growing my career behind the lens.
Throughout the years, I’ve had the opportunity to host personal exhibitions and attend professional workshops led by well-known photographers, further refining my craft.
In 2017, I joined the Wellingborough and District Photographic Club, becoming an active member of the local photography community. In 2018, I began organising local photography outings in Wellingborough, connecting with other creatives and exploring the beauty of our surroundings together.
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve led is my annual Mother’s Day portrait series, which I ran for several years to honour both Lithuanian and English Mother’s Days. I offered free park sessions for mums and their children, capturing joyful memories. Since I can’t be with my own mother on those days — as she lives in Lithuania — this project became my way of celebrating and sharing love with other families here in the UK.

Why "Virgen Photography"?
The name Virgen comes from the Spanish word for virgin — a language I fell in love with as a teenager while studying it in school. Although I don’t speak it fluently anymore, I still carry a deep appreciation for its beauty and rhythm.
Interestingly, Virgen also connects to the meaning of my own name, making it feel even more personal and symbolic. I was drawn to the way it sounds — elegant, memorable, and unique — and it felt like the perfect fit for my creative work.
It’s been part of my photography journey almost from the very beginning, and over time, it’s become more than just a name — it’s part of my identity as an artist.
